Governing Board Self-evaluation Toolkit

The Governing Board Self Evaluation materials provide a board with a toolkit to self-evaluate the effectiveness of the governing board (GB), and encourage all members to draw on their knowledge and understanding to put forward constructive ideas for improving the effectiveness of governance. 

The materials are based on a Plan, Do, Act, Check model and by asking relevant and up to date questions over key areas that boards are responsible for a RAG rating approach is used to develop an action plan. The action plan can dovetail with the school’s improvement development plan with regard to the leadership and management aspect of the school(s).
