Primary Mathematics Professional Networks Our Networks involve three full day face to face sessions with one of our Mathematics Team. The sessions provide local and national updates that are specific to Mathematics, whilst linking to the wider education picture. Within every network there is time to discuss and debate the teaching of mathematics based on the collaborative feedback of what really works in Norfolk and Suffolk classrooms. The Mathematics Team support the subject leaders to take relevant information back to their schools and empower them to develop their leadership role to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics. What are the benefits of the networks? Helps to prioritise the Subject Leadership responsibilities for the forthcoming months. Gives us local and national updates that are specific to Mathematics. Enables the sharing of good practice for the teaching of mathematics. Creates opportunities to do some Mathematics and unpick how to teach “tricky” concepts. Explores an in depth focus for internal CPD follow up sessions. Provides time to reflect on mathematics within specific school context alongside action planning. What is the impact? "Fantastic, current, specific and interesting resources, delivery and presentation." "Thank you for all the information over the year. It has been very informative and has enabled me to be inspired by maths as previously I had led literacy." 99% of delegates over all Primary Mathematics Network Meetings for 2017 to 2018 gave ratings that are good or excellent for the structure, content and delivery of the Networks. "Thank you, it's always fun to learn about new maths developments."
