Performance Management

The process of appraising the performance of the headteacher and staff, assessing their performance of their role and responsibilities against the relevant standards and their objectives is a crucial factor in school improvement.  This includes assessing the staff’s professional development needs and action needed to address them against the relevant Teacher Standards and / or National Standards for Headteachers.  Those involved should satisfy themselves that appraisal evidence informs other decisions, for example on pay.
